This 2-part illustrated lecture series will trace Detroit’s architectural evolution from its origins in the French Colonial period, through the various revival styles of the 19th century (Greek Revival, Gothic Revival, Queen Anne, Romanesque Revival), to the Beaux Arts, Art Deco, International and Post-Modern styles of the 20th Century.

The series will conclude on the third week with a walking tour of downtown Detroit architecture.
